The Role

We are looking for a Head of Accounting to join our Group Finance team in Stockholm. This is a key leadership role reporting directly to the CFO, with broad responsibility and a high degree of autonomy and independent decision-making. The role focuses on defining and continuously enhancing processes, systems and internal controls to enable the accounting function to scale alongside the group’s growth, both organically and through acquisitions.

Through cross-border collaboration, the position provides hands-on experience with local GAAP, IFRS, tax, statutory compliance and audits, making it well suited for someone who enjoys working with a high degree of autonomy in an international organization.

The accounting function consists of a core team of four in-house accountants in Stockholm with a network of external service providers across our markets. Your role will be to provide clear direction, bring structure and further develop the team while ensuring effective collaboration with external partners. You will play a key role in aligning practices and ways of working to support streamlined processes for accounting, payroll, tax and cash management as the group continues to grow.

Your Experiences & Skills

You are a structured, hands-on finance professional who combines technical depth with a genuine interest in leading people and improving how things work. You are comfortable operating in an international, multi-entity environment and you thrive in a setting where no two days are exactly alike.

You bring:

8-10+ years of experience in accounting roles within international or multi-entity organizations, including leadership responsibility

Proven experience leading teams and bringing structure to complex or fast-moving environments

Strong background in statutory accounting, IFRS, tax compliance and audit coordination.

Track record of supporting M&A integrations or scaling finance processes in a growing organization

Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and cultures

A genuine interest in developing and improving processes, including leveraging automation and AI-enabled workflows

Your Mindset:

You think big and have a genuine eagerness to keep learning

You are unpretentious and have no problem rolling up your sleeves and getting the job done yourself

You take initiative and are comfortable making decisions on your own

You are solution-oriented and always strive for simplicity in everything you do

You are a team player who genuinely cares about your colleagues and treats every stakeholder as a customer

What We Offer:

This is an opportunity to take a central role in shaping the finance function of a growing international group. Working closely with senior leadership, you will have the mandate to develop how accounting, reporting and financial processes are structured across VetFamily as the group continues to expand.

Shape the finance function: Play a key role in building scalable structures, processes and controls to support a growing international group

Work close to decision-making: Collaborate directly with the CFO and senior leadership on financial governance and operational priorities

Operate in a dynamic growth environment: Support a business that continues to expand both organically and through acquisitions

Drive alignment across the group: Help establish consistent standards and ways of working across multiple markets and entities

We are based in Stockholm and this role is primarily on-site, though we value flexibility and working remotely from time to time is absolutely fine.
