At VetFamily, we operate a customer-facing, multinational product that helps pet owners keep their pets healthier for longer through preventive care. Our B2C app is already used across Europe—and we’re now scaling it above hundreds of thousands of users.

We’re looking for a Tech Lead who combines strong engineering fundamentals with clear communication and pragmatic leadership. You’ll guide the team as we scale, raise quality, and evolve our architecture—while staying hands-on in the code.

Stack: React (FE), Django (BE), AWS (deployment), EU-wide production footprint.

About the Role

As Tech Lead for our B2C app, you will take ownership of technical direction and execution across a modern React + Django platform deployed on AWS. You’ll work closely with product, design, and commercial stakeholders to turn real customer needs into reliable, secure, and scalable features.

This is a role for someone who enjoys building great product experiences and designing systems that scale: performance, stability, observability, and engineering culture will be part of your day-to-day.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the engineering direction for our B2C app—architecture, priorities, and technical decisions that support rapid growth.
• Stay hands-on: ship meaningful code across the stack (React + Django) and set the standard for engineering quality.
• Scale a production platform on AWS: reliability, performance, monitoring, incident readiness, and cost-aware decisions.
• Own delivery: plan work with the team, balance speed vs. robustness, and drive execution end-to-end.
• Raise the bar on quality: testing strategy, code review practices, CI/CD improvements, and documentation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, and stakeholders—clarify goals, manage trade-offs, and align on outcomes.
• Mentor and grow the team: coach engineers, build healthy engineering habits, and create a culture of ownership.

About You

You’ve led or strongly influenced technical direction on a customer-facing web product.

Strong experience with React and modern frontend practices (state management, performance, component architecture).

Solid backend experience with Django (or similar), APIs, authentication, and database-backed systems.

Experience deploying and operating services on AWS (and comfort with production responsibility).

• You understand the importance of UX, scaling on AWS, and building for a multinational EU user base—including localization, latency, and overall responsiveness. You don’t need to be an expert in everything, but you know when a topic is important enough to dive deeper or ask for help.
• You communicate clearly—able to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
• You’re pragmatic and hands-on: you ship, unblock others, and know when “good enough” is the right call.

Location & Compensation

• Full-time, On-Site(hybrid) in Stockholm (STHLM)
• Salary range: 50–68k SEK/month (plus additional benefits)
