We’re looking for a Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Java and Python (preferably Django) to join our growing tech team. You’ll play a key role in modernizing our core product, a platform that impacts billions in transactions per year and supports veterinary clinics across multiple countries in EMEA, US, Australia & Japan.

This is a complex system that helps clinics optimize their product recommendations, manage contracts, and track revenue. Our challenge is to scale and modernize the product, remove technical debt, and transition to AWS-based infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

• Backend Development – Build and maintain scalable backend services in Python and Java.
• System Architecture – Contribute to system design and architecture to support growth and modernization.
• Infrastructure & DevOps – Work with Terraform, Docker, DevOps, and AWS to enhance our cloud-based infrastructure.
• Business-Critical Development – Build features that help suppliers, clinics, and VetFamily manage contracts, transactions, and product recommendations.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams – Work alongside tech leads, full-stack developers, data scientists, and product owners in Sweden and France.

About You

Must-Have:

• Strong experience in Python (Django preferred) and Java.
• Experience in system architecture and software design.
• Ability to work in a complex product environment.
• Strong communication skills and business understanding – You ask the right questions, understand revenue models, and see the big picture.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with Terraform, Docker, DevOps, and AWS.
• Passion for animals, veterinary technology, or pet-related industries.
