Movora is looking to add a Tissue Recovery Technologist to our Whippany, NJ. team. Salary $27-30 per hour

Position Summary

The primary responsibilities of the Surgical Vet Tech - Tissue Recovery Technologist is to provide technical and laboratory support for acquisition and processing of transplantable tissue grafts for veterinary patients and research customers. This person is responsible for performing all aspects of graft manufacturing including procurement and processing activities, production planning, supply & labeling preparation, hands-on processing, clean-up and maintaining general readiness for procedures. It will also involve some laboratory testing, maintenance of the laboratory, management of documentation, and assistance with quality control audit procedures. This position is a very physical and will require regular lifting up to 50+ and using bone saws.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the recovery and processing of transplantable tissues for veterinary use.
  • Assist with maintaining the lab, including: Runing equipment such as the freeze-dryer, residual moisture balance, processing equipment, etc., Participate in monitoring and maintaining needed supplies and equipment, Sterilization of equipment and supplies and Participating in regular maintenance of Clean Room and Laboratory facility
  • Basic lab testing, such as monitoring culture tubes, preparing samples for testing, operating the pH meter, etc.
  • Assist with documentation in our process tracking system for graft manufacturing.
  • Participate in writing, reviewing, and revising technical manuals and protocols and other relevant procedures.
  • Help with packing and shipping orders and receiving supplies, as needed.
  • Documentation organization and management
  • Position may involve periodic “on call” responsibilities.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Other general duties, as assigned.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of on-the-job experience in a surgical setting (animal or human), tissue banking, clean room or sterile technique preferred.
  • Veterinary Technician preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma required, Associates in a related field preferred.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Able to operate heavy lab equipment such as saws.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement.
  • Comfortable working hands on with animal donor cadavers.
  • Familiarity with computer programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, networking, etc.)
Salary Description
$23-26.50 per hour
