Movora is looking to add a Tissue Production Supervisor to join our team.
The Veterinary Tissue Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the processing, production, and quality assurance of tissues from animal cadavers after recovery. This role ensures that all operations are performed in compliance with regulatory standards and internal protocols, providing leadership and support to the Tissue Processing Technicians and QA Technicians.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:
- Manage and oversee the activities of Tissue Processing Technicians and QA Technicians.
- Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations for team members.
- Ensure team adherence to safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Operations Management:
- Coordinate and supervise the daily operations of tissue processing, ensuring efficient workflow and scheduling.
- Monitor the tissue processing to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain inventory and ensure the availability of necessary supplies and equipment.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all processed tissues meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee QA Technician activities, including inspections, testing, and documentation.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures and SOPs.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all operations comply with relevant regulations and guidelines (e.g., FDA, USDA, state regulations).
- Maintain accurate records and documentation required for compliance.
- Prepare for and participate in inspections and audits.
Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement in the processing and QA processes.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Stay updated with industry best practices and advancements in tissue processing technologies.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., R&D, production, logistics) to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, and external partners.
- Provide regular updates and reports on operations, quality metrics, and compliance status.

Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Veterinary Science, Medical Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in tissue processing, laboratory management, or a related field.
- Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of tissue processing, quality assurance protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in using laboratory equipment, managing inventory, and maintaining accurate records.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills, including training, team-building, and performance management.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in handling biological materials and maintaining records.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective team coordination and regulatory reporting.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require working in laboratory environments with exposure to biological materials.
- Occasional travel may be required for training or collaboration with other facilities.
